A multi days trek to see everything

The "4 Refugios” in Bariloche weaves together the most iconic refuges, summits, lagoons, valleys, and ridges of the region. Merely hearing the names of these places evokes the rich tapestry of Bariloche's mountain history, inviting you on a journey through its breathtaking landscapes and storied past.

The trek goes through Refugio Frey next to Laguna Toncek, Refugio San Martin next to Laguna Jakob, Refugio Manfredo next to Laguna Negra, and finaly to Refugio Lopez in Cerro Lopez.

The entire traverse take 4 to 5 days depending on weather, condition and fitness. Every night is spent in a hut, that will provide a bed, delicious food and beautiful views.

There are various alpine passes to go through, each of them unique in the scenery. That trekking require to have experiences in multi day trek and to have hike into the alpine. From Refugio San Martin to Refugio Manfredo is the most intense day (days 3 or 4), it require easy scrambling and crossing nevés, an adventure in itself that reward you with a welcoming cup of wine in the hut. If the group prefer there is an alternative to avoid that part of the traverse and do a more mellow option.

    Depending on snow coverage during early season. Spring usualy imped the use of moutaineering equipment.

    Only one day have a Very Hard rating, and that difficult passage can be avoid with modification of the itinerary.

    4 to 5 days to complet the full traverse

    Around 11 km / 7 miles per day with 1000 m / 3000 ft of elevation gain
